The Jade Hotel, Greenwich Village
Gemini Real Estate Advisors
Historic Greenwich Village and lower Fifth Avenue provided both the context and inspiration for this new 113-room boutique hotel. The entry is through a Greek revival inspired storefront that addresses the scale of historic Greenwich Village and the style of many of its historic buildings. The details of the storefront include: channeled rusticated brick piers, restoration glass windows, a decorative frieze inspired by Grinling Gibbons, crowning globe finials and pediment, copper gas lanterns, and custom bronze door pulls.
The twenty-story hotel tower containing 113 rooms is set back from the storefront and is inspired by the neo-Georgian towers from the 1920’s on lower Fifth Avenue. Details include cast stone quoining and crowning cast stone entablature, arches, and decorative urns, giving the new building a distinctive silhouette against the Greenwich village skyline.
